It is designed as an early warning system to alert you if your opposing hand or finger is touching the blade or jaw of the pruner before activating the trigger, an alarm will sound and the pruner will go into sleep mode, wake up the pruners by squeezing the trigger quickly 2 or 3 times and you are ready to prune again.
It is a simple system that will help you learn to keep your opposing hand away from the blade but is not designed to protect you from cuts if the trigger is activated.
